Twitter power

Twitter had nearly 250.000 tweets an hour on the topic #iranelection. Its the way for people in Iran to express. Thats the power of the internet. With words, photos, and videos ordinary people are reporting live.

Where are the journalists???

Infographic that works

This is the power of a good infographic. Chiqui and Carlos from lainformacion.com made this wonderful graphic of the Air France accident.

What's interesting is that every day that passes until the 30 day period that the beacon from the black box will transmit before the battery ends, more information is added.

Very clever idea and the only thing you need to read in order to know everything about the accident.

Its so boring to see all those maps about the accident that most newspapers understand as infographics. Graphics without info. Just space to cover.

Thank you very much Spiros!!. I think this is a good example about the 'power' of online graphics. Easily updated! Best, Carlos Gámez.

infographics is the proof that the visualisation of a piece of information could be as powerfull as the information itself. Likewise Spyros mentions, good infographics is a powerfull tool. Grande respect to this piece of graphis regarding the dissaster of Air France.

Air France disaster

It’s funny how 2 of the biggest newspapers in France and Europe handle the situation of the airplane accident.

Liberation seams to have forgotten about it just 2 days after, having this so old timed illustration about the upcoming European elections!

Le Figaro on the other side has this very good infographic on how and where the accident happened.

Sneak peek at the new project I am working on

These are some logo samples. Which one is your favorite?

And then some more of the prototype pages.

This is a free newspaper about books, but for younger, more lifestylish people.

The free newspapers are having a boost all over the world. They "sell" a lot. They have lots of advertisements and a get huge numbers in readership since they are in every coffee shop, restaurant, bar, metro etc. The fact that they are free takes the pressure off the people working at them. That usually leads to fantastic design and layout and provocative and contemporary content. That brings advertisers too.

Maybe we should look over there a little bit too. We need to be open minded
